Foreign companies in Italy

RSPP for foreign companies operating in Italy.

If you open a site, a works compound or an office in Italy, Legislative Decree 81/2008 requires an RSPP. Gruppo FN is the local counterpart: written appointment, DVR and coordination in your language.

Why a foreign company needs an RSPP in Italy.

01

The duty also applies to foreign subsidiaries.

Every employer in Italy must appoint an RSPP, even if the parent company is abroad. It is not a formality: it is a condition for operating under Legislative Decree 81/2008.

02

A counterpart who can brief headquarters.

Documents, appointment and inspections stay in Italy. Commercial coordination can run in Italian, English, Spanish, French, German or Chinese, so headquarters finds a partner that understands the brief.

03

Without inflating the local payroll.

An external appointment avoids training an in-house dedicated figure and keeping modules A, B and C and mandatory refreshers on the local headcount.

What the consulting includes.

Written appointment

Formal assumption of the role in line with arts. 17 and 34, with duties and limits defined.

DVR and risk assessment

Drafting and updating of the Risk Assessment Document to INAIL guidelines.

Site visits

Visits at Italian sites, with frequency agreed on risk and complexity.

Inspection support

Document pack and presence during ASL, Fire Brigade and INAIL inspections.

How we work with an international group.

Four phases, the same as the practice method: needs analysis, site visit and appointment, DVR, ongoing advice. The quote comes after the analysis, not before.

Based in Rome, nationwide service.

The operational office is at Via Po 102 in Rome. The RSPP service is delivered nationwide, with dedicated pages for the central-Italy areas where we work most often.

Questions from headquarters.

Do we need to appoint an RSPP even if the company is foreign?

Yes, if you operate in Italy with at least one worker. Legislative Decree 81/2008 applies to the Italian employer or to the branch that employs staff in Italy. The RSPP may be external.

Which languages can we coordinate in?

Yes. Official documentation stays in Italian, as the law requires. Commercial coordination and updates to headquarters can run in the language chosen on this site.

How long does it take to activate the appointment?

After first contact a site visit is usually scheduled within a few working days. Appointment and start depend on complexity: typically 1–2 weeks, faster if urgent.

Request an RSPP consultation.

Tell us your Italian site, headcount and urgency. We will get back to you with no obligation, in the language you wrote in.
